With the 2019 trade deadline officially past us, the Miami Marlins surprised fans by trading one of their top pitching rookies, Zac Gallen, and not moving their expiring, veteran contracts. July 28—Marlins 5, Diamondbacks 1; Elieser Hernandez started this game for the Marlins, going four innings allowing one run on three hits, two walks with one strikeout. The Marlins scored five runs on nine hits with Miguel Rojas, Brian Anderson and Harold Ramirez hitting a HR. The Marlins attempted a rally late scoring four on a Brian  Anderson grand slam but could not complete the comeback. August 1—Marlins 5, Twins 4; Jordan  Yamamoto got the start against the Twins going six innings allowing four runs on seven hits with no walks and eight strikeouts.
